Hunters in Texas have access to more than 180 public hunting areas encompassing over a million acres of public land that is owned or leased by the TPWD and is open for hunting during season. In addition to these acres, many federal areas and private lands owned by TPWD partners are open to hunters under certain conditions. To find a hunting area near you, check out the TPWD interactive map. It has information not only about the location itself but also about the dates the area is open and the types of game offered.
