From the Beaver Dam to Cave Lake, Nevada offers campers an excellent experience in waterfront camping. With the popularity of water sports, breathtaking views, and endless local entertainment, Nevada’s beach campsites are among the best. Here are our favorites.

1. Lahontan State Recreation Area

Lahontan State Recreation Area is one of Nevada’s most popular water sport destinations. Boasting 69 miles of shoreline, people come to boat, fish, water ski, horseback ride, and camp, all year. Primitive on-the-beach camping is the most popular and is available everywhere with a limit of 14 days in a 30-day period.

2. Galilee Episcopal Camp and Retreat Center, Glenbrook, NV

While primarily a retreat center for those of the Episcopal faith, anyone is welcome at Galilee Episcopal Camp and Retreat Center. Located in Glenbrook, Nevada, Galilee offers space for up to 70 people. Check out their website for an updated listing of their year-round camps and programs for all ages.

3. Beaver Dam State Park

Stay at the Davis Creek Campground in the Washoe Valley any time of year. They have 62 overnight campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Keep in mind that there are no hook-ups. Stay right on the water and enjoy the solitude.

4. Cave Lake State Park

Cave Lake State Park near Ely, Nevada, is stocked with rainbow trout and German brown trout and covers 32 acres. Stay at one of two designated campgrounds, including Elk Flat Campground and Lake View Campground. Each site has a fire pit, table, and parking, although access roads are unpaved.
