Kentucky Lake is the largest man-made lake in the eastern United States. Lake Barkley expands over 58,500 acres with a 1,004-mile shoreline. This man-made lake is one of the largest in the world, and is widely regarded as one of Kentucky’s best for water recreation. This 10,000-acre reservoir was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1964. The marina on Barren River Lake has a variety of boats and jet skis available for rent. Situated just south of Morehead, Kentucky, Cave Run Lake has an area of just 12 square-miles, making it one of the smaller selections, but just as incredible.
