Live Music:
Live music provides a joyful ambiance and additional entertainment to Art in the Park from Sylvan Park's central Gazebo. 2025's Art in the Park will feature live performances from The Rutabaga Brothers, Marques Morel, Molly Brandt, and Driftless Jazz Ensemble.
The Rutabaga Brothers are an upbeat and danceable R & B combo that is sure to bring a smile to your face. With selections by such artists as Wilson Picket, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Delbert McClinton, The Blues Brothers, Eddie Floyd, Etta James, B.B. King, Jimmy Reed and many others, The Brothers will have you rockin' your blues away. The group consists of lead vocalist Mariah Ciangiola; keyboard player and vocalist David Harrenstein; percussionist Craig Johnson; guitar player Gary Marcoux; percussion, bass and keyboard player John Gaddo, guitar player and vocalist Keith Zeller, harmonica player Lee Loerch, saxophone player Nathan Davidson, and bass player Noah Short.
Marques Morel is an American songwriter/story-teller, midwestern-twanger/folksinger, guitar-thumper/harmonica wailer, street-performer/wandering troubadour, steadfast woodcutter/migrant worker, a father, a son, and a friend to all. Originally from the Illinois corn country, he has performed just about anywhere that anybody would listen: big city street corners around the world, county fairs, folk festivals, hole in the wall taverns/divebars/honky tonks, cabin porches, backyard barbeques, listening rooms, theatres large and small, and beside many campfires and woodstoves amongst the ghosts of his songwriter heroes.
Molly Brandt has tales to tell you – her own, other real-life stories, and fictional fables that ring true no matter how much melodrama and poetic detail they contain. Like the storyteller himself, Tom T. Hall, Brandt knows just what to tell and what to hold back to fire up the listener's imagination. Brandt has also inherited Dolly Parton's knack for painting unvarnished pictures of poverty and struggle but performing them with glitz, style, and attitude. She dazzles when she takes the stage, first with her presence and statement outfits, then with her powerhouse vocals.
Driftless Jazz Ensemble is the self-proclaimed jazziest ensemble in the driftless region! Based in Decorah, Iowa, this talented group of musicians will bring an ubbeat vibe to the last set at 2025's Art in the Park!
