Five and a Half Feet of Fearsome (ASL-interpreted Performance)
Nicolas Shannon Savard
Nicolas Shannon Savard hilariously unpacks the so-called 'trans agenda' in this bold solo show featuring satire, puppets, and Judy Blume. Come for the comedy, stay for the truth behind the headlines.
What if I could do everything Fox News says I’m doing as a trans person?
Kind of an empowering thought, really… Obviously, I’d have to start by gathering recruits to help spread the “transgender agenda.” Consider this your official invitation to the 56th annual meeting of the Gender Deviants and Other Queer Folk of Ohio!
Part storytelling, part recruitment meeting, part puppet show, all heart and biting wit, Five and a Half Feet of Fearsome is a comedic takedown of anti-LGBTQ politics in 2025. This solo show blends jokes and physical metaphor to poke the holes in the logic underneath the misinformation surrounding trans identity and community from the headlines to the legislature. Much like the transgender community, the show doesn't fit neatly into one box. It's a celebration of community and identity, and it’s a battle cry. The storytelling is both hilarious and heart-wrenching. Audiences of the original 2018-2019 tour described Five and a Half Feet of Fearsome as "the softest ****** punch," “so truthful, so deeply resonant,” “engaging, educational, and emotionally moving.” Newly revised to speak to the experiences of trans folks in Ohio in 2025, the show invites audiences to fight the current wave of anti-trans terror with connection and laughter.
