Mother Nature’s Tears
Lucy Geiser

Mother Nature is dying atop a pile of rice—symbolizing wealth’s waste. Her children—Power, Intelligence, and Kindness—must overcome trauma and unite to save her in this moving story of climate and humanity.

We open on the story of Earth told through dance. Mother Nature weaves the fabric of our planet's history of both prosperity and pain. By the end of the dance, the once glorious and regal Mother Nature becomes weak and exhausted by the burdens forced on her. As she begins crying, the audience is introduced to her three sons: Power, Intelligence, and Kindness. They represent the three pillars of Human Nature and have come together to help their mother. They begin to bicker and discuss the best option to solve the issue at hand. The problem is that Mother Nature won't eat. The sons have paid for the most expensive food in the world, and she won't eat it. The family spirals into chaos as they struggle to reunite with one another. The play explores themes of Climate Change, family trauma, and Women's Mental Health.
