The Carmel Bach Festival Young Artist Showcase Recognizes Talented Young Musicians From The Central Coast. We Feature Our Young Artists On The Sunset Center Main Stage, Including Instrumentalists, Pianists, Singers, And Chamber Ensembles. This Years’ Showcase Is A Pre-Fest Event.

1:00pm - 3:00pm - Bca Masterclass

The Baroque & Classical Academy Provides Training From Internationally Acclaimed Bach Festival Musicians And Learning Opportunities At The Carmel Bach Festival. Bca Musicians Have A Full Rehearsal Schedule, Including Guided Sessions With Mentors, In Preparation For The Baroque & Classical Academy Quartet Showcase Concert. Throughout July, Bca Musicians Learn How To Curate Programs, Create Socially Conscious Programs, Develop Audiences, Build Donor Relationships, And More. Musicians Attend Educational Workshops With Festival Musician Mentors, Film Composers, Board Members, And Others To Learn Skills To Help Them Succeed As Professional Classical Musicians.

The Quartet Also Enriches The Traditional Carmel Bach Festival Community By Offering Free Public Masterclasses And Performing A Showcase Concert Featuring A Program Curated By The Bca Musicians With Guidance From Festival Mentors.

Mozart – Solemn Vespers For A Confessor, Mozart – Requiem, And Peteris Vasks’ Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant Us Peace)
 
This Program Opens With Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes De Confessore, K. 339, A Luminous Work Written For The Salzburg Cathedral. These Vespers Showcase Mozart’s Mastery Of Combining Choral And Orchestral Textures— Featuring Moments Of Grandeur Balanced By Intimate, Lyrical Exchanges.

Following This Is Mozart’s Requiem, K. 626, His Final, Unfinished Masterpiece. Left Incomplete At The Time Of His Death, The Requiem Is Both A Deeply Personal Reflection And A Timeless Communal Expression Of Mourning And Hope. In This Work, Soloists, Choir, And Orchestra Engage In A Poignant Conversation, Weaving Together Themes Of Humanity And Eternity With Sublime Intensity.

The Program Concludes With Peteris Vasks’ Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant Us Peace), A Contemporary Meditation On Peace And Reconciliation. Vasks’ Music Speaks With A Powerful Simplicity, Offering A Dialogue Between Past And Present, Tradition And Innovation.
