Made with a sincere love for Frank Herbert’s iconic book series (or, well, actually the movies) by one Letterboxd obsessed man, and one brave woman, Dune: the Dunesical (The 4D Muad’Dib Experience) is a parody musical for everyone from musical theater fans and Dune-heads to musical cynics and Dune haters. Dune: the Dunesical mixes campy musical theater, raunchy fanfic, and confusing hardcore sci-fi no one can actually understand into one endlessly hilarious experience. As lovingly mansplained in painstaking detail by a guy to a girl on their second date (with help from an ensemble of odd characters, including David Lynch, and even Herbert himself), Dune: The Dunesical (the 4D Muad'Dib Experience) irreverently recounts Frank Herbert’s epic tale of interplanetary war and a young man with an unavoidable destiny. At its heart, it’s a tale of growing up, the power of dreams, and spitting bars harder than the Gom Jabbar.
