Sir Donald Runnicles, conductor
Program
Mahler: Symphony No. 7
Music Director Sir Donald Runnicles adds to his personal cycle of Mahler symphonies with the underappreciated and rarely heard 7th. There is no official story behind this music, but the clear journey from darkness to light is recognizable to any who have triumphed over doubt and despair. After the exquisite “night music,” let the “broad daylight” of the finale take your breath away.
Join us for a pre-concert talk at 6 PM with Ling Ling Huang, GTMF Violin, in the Barbara Furrer Goodman Memorial Garden near Walk Festival Hall’s north entrance. Talks are sponsored by the Goodman Family Foundation, in memory of Roy and Barbara Goodman.
Cost : $40 - $85, children/students $5
