His life’s journey reads like a fiction novel–from Navy fighter pilot, to White House aide, Olympic wrestler, actor, and CEO of RKO Pictures, painting became a meaningful pursuit, while caring for his wife, actress Dina Merrill.

Celebrate Art Deco at 100. Rick Friedman interviews the remarkable art deco inspired Bridgehamptons artist Giancarlo Impiglia, 85. He participated in the famed Absolut Vodka campaign of the 80s and through the 80s and 90s exhibited in numerous NYC galleries, weaving himself into the artistic fabric of the city. Impiglia has not been limited to his recognizable signature style, but has found new ways to comment upon contemporary society and the ironies of the art world.
