“Amelia Earhart – Declassified” is the first script reading for a proposed motion picture that is timely, topical and true. AE (as Amelia was known), at the time of her disappearance in July of 1937 was the “sweetheart” of the world. Her personality and accomplishments radiated positivity and inspiration to everyone (except a few, a very few, curmudgeons). Throngs gathered to witness her aviation exploits and flocked to her lectures.

Women did not yet have the right to vote when she was born, and yet she became the quintessential modern woman, sending herself to college and off to many early adventures before she learned to fly. It was a fitting emblem of her sense of personal freedom.

In newly revealed research, this sense of personal freedom had to be tempered by the realities of increasing political instability in Europe and Asia. The love of personal freedom had to meet up with love of country to help keep it free.

The story focuses on the last years of Amelia’s life. This period of time, approximately 1935-1937, was a culmination of the fame and fortune she attained beginning in 1928. Many influences and relationships contributed to bring AE to her penultimate adventure, a flight around the world. This flight was designed to be a transition point for her. Many heroic aviation endeavors had occurred during the early years of the twentieth century. Other people (men) had flown around the world. She would be the first woman. Aviation technology had evolved spectacularly and it was time for AE to move forward. She had great plans for her future after the flight, plans that now only contribute to the tragedy of her demise.

To this day, there continues to be interest in AE for all these reasons.
