Hollywood Fringe Festival - How to Find a Husband

Saturday, Jun 14, 2025 at 7:30pm

The Broadwater - Second Stage
6320 Santa Monica Boulevard

JJ Pyle finds herself accidentally, unfortunately home for Christmas and stuck in this little pick-up truck with her Dad. They are driving to see her sister’s new house, that’s being built, just outside of Mellott, Indiana, a small town in the middle of nowhere where everything is surrounded by cornfields. In an unconscious search for acceptance and emancipation a tale is told  through their conversation and memories, revealing criminal activity, dysfunctional family cycles, heartbreak… and hope.

The Reviews are In -

"[JJ] is an absolute master of storytelling. Sneaky even. The audience is lulled into the false sense that they are merely here to be entertained, amused and to passively listen. By the end of the show however, we are not only charmed and entranced, be we also understand a little more about ourselves and our patchwork connections with the people in our life.” -Samantha Simmonds-Ronceros, NoHoArtsDistrict.com (LA)

"A wry and heartfelt solo show about the relationships that shape our lives… a narrative style somewhere between TED Talk, stand-up routine, and memory play… her relationship horror stories are as relatable as they are funny, and we share in her gallows-humor moments of dissecting breakup emails, cyber-stalking past loves, stifling exasperation with ignorant relatives, demanding customers, or clueless paramours…” - Emily Corden, theasy.com (Theatre is Easy) (NYC)

"…with a straight-talking, quick-thinking, multi-tasking New York energy running through this Sex-in-and-out-of-the-City-monologue… an entertaining ride through dating and the American landscape with a free-wheeling spirit.” - Sally Stott, The Scotsman (Edinburgh, Scotland)
