Join us for the 20th Annual Lake Area Fiber Arts Festival!
Workshop classes in separate rooms will be offered to the public and will be held in various sessions on Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon.
The Lake Area Fiber Arts Festival will feature a vendor expo with 15+ vendor booths as well as sales of finished fiber art and work handmade by members of the Lake Area Fiber Artists.
Class Schedule:
1 - 5 pm: Zipply Art's Gardening Gnome (Beginner)

We will be making a broach/shawl pin or art piece using zippers, roving and embellishments. The zipper is hand sewn onto wool felt making an outline of a design. The inside is then filled in with wool roving using the technique of needle felting. Then buttons, beads, metal and other embellishments are added.
Students will learn also how to prepare a zipper and apply a pattern. Instruction of needle felting will also be included in this class as well as embellishment tips and finishing options.
Students will have the option of making a girl OR boy gardening gnome.

2-5 pm: Double Knitting Basics

Learn the basics of making a 2 color, 2 sided design in your knitting. Must be proficient at knit and purl.
Students should bring size 7 needles, scissors, and stitch marker. We will be making a trivet.
Yarn will be available to purchase for $15 or you can bring about 100 yards each of 2 solid colors of DK-worsted weight wool.(the wool is the best option if the trivet is going to be used with hot things)
