The Larchmere Arts is pleased to present the Larchmere Cultural Arts Festival, an array of visual, literary, and performing arts over the space of a three-day window. Partnering with UnBar Cafe, Literary Cleveland, Kings and Queens Cultural Village, Crosby's Corn and the Adun Spice Co.
The participants are a wide range of artists, including Santanna Watson, Jurnee Weeams, Jacques P. Jackson, Gwendolyn Garth, Antwoine Washington, Bonnie Venable, Rodney Carpenter and others. Among the photographers will be Mychal Lilly, Deanna Thompson, Vince Robinson, Milan Freeman and Jeff Lawson, a former photographer for Ebony and Jet Magazines and the Donohue Show.
The Shorts Film Festival will screen films from Dr. Mary Weems, Terrence Spivey, Michael Oatman, Wayne Smith and more, including E(Race)Sure, a film about Cleveland entrepreneur Winston Willis. This event is sponsored by Crosby's Corn.
A writer’s workshop, hosted by Author/Publisher Nicole D. Miller, will provide insight to writers interested in the craft and publishing as independent writers.
Literary Cleveland will curate and host a poetry slam at Larchmere Arts. Additionally, there will be an Ekphrastacy event in which art will be displayed to inspire the audience to write and share their poems as active participants.
A digital photography exhibition and forum will include images from several Cleveland-area photographers with a conversation about the works of renown Cleveland photographers Jeff Lawson, Mychal Lilly and others who have created great images.
In terms of music, an African drumming class will be held at Kings and Queens Cultural Village. On the opening night, there will be a music and spoken word performance by poets, Dr. Weems and Vince Robinson at Larchmere Arts.
