Just like you our son, Jack, loves to run, jump, dance and play. He was born with a birth defect called bilateral clubfoot which, if left untreated, can impair a child's ability to walk, run, jump and play. Jack also has arthrogryposis and limb differences, which effect his upper extremities and joints.
Treatment can be costly so we felt a calling to start a charity that assists families with the cost of care associated with these conditions. Many families have to travel to treatment areas and there are costs associated with travel, lodging, treatment, management (special shoes and braces, physical and occupational therapies.... to name a few). Our proceeds will help ease the financial burden for these families.
All funds raised through the Live Like Jack 5k will benefit awareness, research, treatment and management of clubfoot and other musculoskeletal conditions and limb differences.
We aim to support EVERYONE--including those with disabilities, impairments and differences-- in their journey to run, jump, play and ultimately LIVE like Jack.
We were told when Jack was a baby that he would "never be normal" and we say.... maybe "normal" isn't all it's cracked up to be.
IN A WORLD OF NORMAL, EMBRACE YOUR DIFFERENCES!
