This event, which includes an 8K, a 5K and a 3K, has become the kickoff for the high-school cross-country season and the signal for GWTC members that it’s time to start racing again after a summer hiatus. The race is a great chance for GWTC members and local high-school runners to mix it up together. Jeanne O'Kon, Tom Perkins and Bill Lott have teamed up as race directors to create a great event that gives you a real taste of Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park.

All donated food items will go to Second Harvest of the Big Bend food bank.  Second Harvest provides healthy food for neighbors facing hunger and food insecurity throughout the 16-county Big Bend service area.  Help this race collect 1,500 pounds of food items this year!  

All monetary proceeds benefit the GWTC Chenoweth Fund.

Race Fees and Donations
Age 1-18
-By August 13 at 6:00 p.m. - Free with a minimum of 4 cans of food (includes shirt)
-After August 13 at 6:00 p.m./Race Day - $5.00 plus minimum of 4 cans of food (includes shirt)

Ages 19 and Older
-By August 13 at 6:00 p.m. - $15.00 plus minimum of 2 cans of food
-After August 13 at 6:00 p.m. - $20.00 plus minimum of 2 cans of food
-GWTC members registered by 6:00 p.m., on August 13 will receive a $2 discount
