5K Run & 2K Family Fun with Water Gun Run or Walk
The Word "Sangamam" ("சங்கமம்") in the Tamil Language means, Confluence or assembly or junction or in simple terms, Join together in one place. Tamil is one of the oldest and most classical languages in the world.
The primary purpose of this event is to bring the entire community together and show our Indian community presence and our support by giving back to the community where we live. As part of this, part of the proceeds from the profit that we receive through the registration will be donated to local non-profits that have local programs to Overcome Poverty and/or provide food supplies for the needy. We also intend to donate Tamil Language literature books to Bloomington Public Library.
2K Family Fun Water Gun Run or Walk will also be on the Tipton Trail South Shelter. Toy Water Guns will be provided to the registered Kids below 15 years.
There will be volunteers at each mile marker and intersection for traffic control but the course will be open to traffic for the public. Post-race kids'fun games are also planned. Race Shirt is guaranteed to all registered participants who are pre-registered by July 10th. After that and through race day, a Race Shirt is not guaranteed.
Packet Pickup and race day registration start at 6:30 am in the Tipton Trial (South Shelter).
5K Awards: Top overall male and female. Age bracket awards: 15 & under, 15-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 60&Up
2K Family Fun Run/Walk Awards: Individual category 3&under, 4-6, 7-9, 10-15
