On this riveting solo piano program, Juho Pohjonen plays works that span the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, including Beethoven’s fantasy-like Sonata in E-flat Major, Op. 27, No. 1, and Liszt’s sonata-like Dante Fantasy, a breathtakingly virtuosic work that evokes the terror and elation depicted in Dante’s 14th-century narrative poem, The Divine Comedy.
