The public is invited to join the fun as the Sourland Mountain Festival returns. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Festival promises an unforgettable summer celebration of live music, local flavors, and community spirit — rain or shine — from 3:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the beautiful Unionville Vineyard in Hunterdon County. Organizers are encouraging the community to purchase tickets early as they expect the event to sell out before the big day.
Visitors making their way to the vineyard will travel along the winding, picturesque roads of the Sourland region before arriving at Unionville Vineyards’ iconic ruby-red barn—a fitting backdrop for a day that blends natural beauty, community spirit, and creative energy. Festivalgoers can expect an experience that celebrates everything that makes this Central Jersey region special.
The Festival’s music lineup is sure to have guests movin’ and groovin’. Dave Butler and Friends, featuring Jon Ladeau, will open the show, setting the tone for a full afternoon of live performances. James Popik & Supernova will return to the festival with their unique brand of “festival jazz,” bringing a nostalgic nod to the event’s early years. BetterDucks will take the stage later in the day with an upbeat set, and headlining this year’s show will be the high-energy funk band Charles Laurita & The Mischief. The lineup is designed to get attendees dancing, smiling, and soaking in the summer vibes.
Festival co-chair Tiffany Bai noted that the planning team has worked hard to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever. “We wanted to create a festival that truly celebrates the spirit of the Sourlands—its music, its makers, and its mission. We’re so proud of the lineup, community partners, vendors, and experiences we’re offering this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary,” she said.
In addition to the music, the Festival will feature a variety of interactive and family-friendly attractions. Children and adults alike will enjoy meeting the llamas from Spruce Run Llama Farm and taking part in guided nature hikes led by educators from the Raritan Headwaters Association. Face painting and hands-on activities will keep young festivalgoers entertained throughout the day.
For nature lovers and gardeners, native plants will be available for purchase from My Backyard at Nectars, a Titusville-based native plant center. Shoppers can also browse handcrafted goods from local artisans and small businesses, including Hillsborough Trading Co., while those curious about what the future may hold can enjoy a reading from Amanda the Psychic.
Food and drink are a central part of the festival experience, and this year’s offerings are expected to impress. The Ryland Inn will return to offer its signature VIP culinary experience, led by acclaimed chef Daniel Brunina and his talented team. Food vendors AMA Pizza, Cas Pierogi, and Olsson’s Fine Foods will serve up a variety of delicious bites, while Lone Eagle Brewing returns with its lineup of refreshing local craft beers.
Festival co-chair Aditi Bhogal emphasized that the event is not just about entertainment—it’s also about impact. “Proceeds from the Sourland Mountain Festival support the Sourland Conservancy’s efforts to protect and preserve this unique and vital region. It’s a fun day out, but it’s also a chance to give back and be part of something meaningful,” she said.
The Sourland Mountain Festival is organized and staffed almost entirely by volunteers, many of whom have been involved for several years. East Amwell’s volunteer rescue squad will be on-site to support safety throughout the day, and accessible parking will be available near the festival entrance.
