Texas Southmost College is proud to present the 2nd Annual Mariachi Festival, a vibrant celebration of Mexican culture to promote community engagement and foster a deeper understanding of cultural diversity within our college and the surrounding communities. It will offer educational opportunities, showcase local talent, and promote mariachi education. Attendees can look forward to an unforgettable experience filled with entertainment and cultural enrichment.

Schedule Of Events

Mariachi Workshop: JBA Performing Arts Center

7:30 – 9:00 am : Registration at the JBA Performing Arts Lobby
9:00 - 9:50 am : Welcome and Introductions Presentation of Repertoire for Workshops (Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles)
10:00 am - 12:30 pm : Breakout Sessions (study of assigned repertoire by instrument and level)
10:15 - 11:30 am : Director’s Masterclass by Jose Longoria and Mariachi Reynas Musical Director
11:30 am – 12:15 pm : Presentation by Fabian Lopez - “The Play Circuit and Other Psychological Frameworks in Mariachi Culture”
12:30 - 2:00 pm : Lunch on your own
2:00 - 4:00 pm : Breakout Sessions (study of assigned repertoire by instrument and level)
4:00 - 5:30 pm : Sound Check and Rehearsal for Vocal Competition (Doors Close)
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm : Grand Concert #1: JBA Performing Arts Center
