Kohler-Andrae State Park
1020 Beach Park Lane

A first time for us here and we are excited for it! My deep love for sunset chasing and the sound of waves crashing isn't immediately a “that's so Wisconsin' thought. Welp, allow us to introduce you to Sheboygan's Kohler-Andrae State Park. Very Wisconsin and a total gem if you haven't been here yet.

This 9 mile, 6:45pm start event contains a good mix of earth. It's also very flat earth with a total elevation ascent of 509ft and 485ft of descent.

After your event you are invited to stay while we cheer, chill and grill. Please note unless you have a campsite reserved, the park closes at 11pm and we must be off the property by then.

We invite you to also invite family and friends to join you! While you're out on the course there's plenty for them to do awaiting your return.

Being this is a Wisconsin State Park, daily or annual passes are to be had and correctly placed on your vehicle's windshield.

The course.
-You will have 2 hours and 25 minutes to complete the course. That's a 15 minute mile pace for this 9 mile event.
Starting from the indoor shelter area you will take a concrete path down towards the playground. From there wide trails will greet you as you head on to the Woodland Dunes trail. This takes you through some campground areas before finding its way back to the shoreline. By mile 1.05 you are greeted to sand. Hello Lake Michigan!!! Please stay as close to the shoreline as possible or as your comfort allows. Where the sand is the most saturated is the easiest surface to run on.

-Around mile 2.8 you will exit by the dog exercise area (P2). There's a restroom here if you need one.

-While carefully staying on the right hand side of Beach Park Lane you will continue on to S. 12th St./Co.Rd. V.

-Roughly 0.6miles on V (please stay off the road and on the shoulder) you will enter onto a path bringing you to the Black River trail system. Course markers will guide your way through these wide, very easy going marsh, pine and prairie trails. The loop created will bring you back to the path that you entered on from the road.

-You'll head back (now south bound) on the road and will return to the dog exercise center (P2).

-From here you will enter onto the cordwalk. This 1.45 mile journey is beautiful, but be very cautious of your footing. The boards are uneven, have gaps, missing sections, warped and can be slippery if wet.

-You'll exit the coardwalk back onto the beach southbound for about 0.75 miles. Soon you'll see blue cones to exit off the beach and back to the Woodland Dunes trail. A right turn at the bench will guide you back to where it all started and your finish line.

-Welcome back!!
