Franklin Wirth Park

About Us

Franklin Wirth Park, centrally located in Brookfield, is considered by many residents as “my most favorite place to be” in the City. The 135± acre site was acquired in 1961 and named after the first and long time Mayor of the City.

The park is comprised of approximately 96 acres of upland suitable for active park facility development, and the remaining acreage encompasses a variety of wetland, woodland and surface water resources within the Underwood Creek primary environmental corridor.

Wirth Park is a fully developed community park with a community-wide service area providing a variety of natural resource and non-resource oriented facilities and is the premier park for the City of Brookfield offering residents a diverse array of active and passive outdoor recreational opportunities. The park facilities are utilized by the community on a daily basis with well over 100,000 visitations annually.
