Saturday 9:00 am - 10:45 am / Classroom A (Restaurant) - Daewen - Elemental Runic Dance - Inspired by the Elder Futhark, Daewen’s Runic Dance uses fusion dance and creative movement based on the runes’ magickal associations to invoke their unique powers within us. In this workshop, you will learn four Runic Combinations with deep connections to the elements of water, air, earth, and fire to add a spark of magick to your dance!

Saturday 11:00 am - 12:45pm / Classroom A (Restaurant) - Kimberly Larkspur - Storm Surge - Through a series of exploratory exercises and short combinations, dancers will experiment with initiating, interrupting, and redirecting momentum and explore dynamic shifts as tools for expanding technique and supporting expression. All Levels Welcome.

Saturday 9:00 am - 10:45 am / Classroom B (Boardroom) - Karla Marie - A Deep Dive into the Art Of Improvisation - Dancers will dive into the creation process, from concept to stage, exploring and challenging their own skills, process, and style to produce meaningful and impactful dance pieces honing in the power of improvisation. We'll delve into the seen and unseen elements of stage presence and connection, using Oriental, Fusion, and Modern dance techniques and elements. By exploring our personal output vs. outcome in dance, we'll learn to create 'a moment,' 'an experience' to maximize audience experience and self-expression. Let the sh*t go, Take space, EXHALE. It's YOUR time to be MAGIC. Bring a notebook and a pen.

Saturday 9:00 am - 10:45 am / Classroom C (Ballroom) - Gwenda Bourgeois - Siren Sword Intensive - Like the constantly shifting sea, Sirens can be enchanting, and serene, or fierce and tumultuous. They are among the few forces that man cannot tame or dominate, always just beyond our grasp, they are too powerful to be subdued and too ethereal to pursue. Harness the enchantment of sirens, celebrating their beauty and mesmerizing movements. In this class, you will connect with your alluring, sensuous siren self. By combining sword and veil, with floor-work and slow slinky moves, you'll create a stunning choreography with movements that flow gracefully like water. Join us to learn and explore! There will be alternate moves for those who do not wish to do floorwork.

Saturday 11:00 am - 12:45 pm / Classroom C (Ballroom) - Mistress Jaqueline - Whirling Silks-Introduction to Double Veil - Description : Join Mistress Jacqueline to learn how to mesmerize and captivate your audience with double whirling silks! This workshop will begin with a short warmup focusing on the upper body, carriage, and posture. Then we will move on to veil grips, turns, tricks, and transitions. To finish we will string together our movements into sensual and exciting combinations. (Please bring 2 veils of the same size and shape to this workshop. A few will be available to borrow if needed.)

Saturday 1:00 pm - 2: 45 pm / Classroom A (Restaurant) Kimberly Larkspur - Ripple: Undulations, Flutters, Rolls and Waves in the lab. -Let’s talk about common (and uncommon) barriers to smooth transitions between muscle contractions, examine a variety of approaches to achieving optimum scintillation, and experiment with various factors that’ll free up layering options (hip work with flutters, anyone?) All Levels Welcome.

SATURDAY 3:00 pm - 4:45 pm / Classroom C (Ballroom) - Drake von Trapp - Sagat-cha! Multi-Tonal Finger Cymbal Technique & Combos (Combos: technique) - “Multi-tonal technique” is a finger cymbal technique that accompanies Middle Eastern music in a euphonious way that feels as good as it sounds. It is recommended that dancers bring LARGE finger cymbals that are at least 2.25–3” in diameter.
