Sunday 9:00 am - 10:45 am / Classroom A (Restaurant) - Devin Alfather - Axial Anthology (beginner / intermediate dance workshop) - An exploration of the how”s and why’s of complex layering in the torso and beyond. Unlock gateways to intricate patterns and building blocks of a-typical layering. Both timed and untimed. Axial Body, here we come! Designed with adaptations to meet each dancer where they are in their technical journey. This workshop is suitable for beginner / intermediate students of Raq Sharqi and Fusion Dance

Sunday 9:00 am - 10:45 am / Classroom B (Boardroom) - Mistress Ilea Bizarre - Mirror Mirror - Let’s step through the glass and push our way through the unknown in order to become the reflection. Join me as we move against the grain, abandoning comfort zones, expanding the boundaries of creative movement beyond any previous limit. In this class we will learn complex combinations celebrating my favorite elements of dance; isolations, layers, lines, and arms. We will then take the combos, flip ‘em ,and reverse ‘em, exploring the movement pattern on the opposite side of the body drilling both sides of the mirror image. This will allow us to explore partner work and group formation dynamic while challenging the dance brain, keeping you learning and advancing at any skill level

Sunday 9:00 am - 10:45 am / Classroom C (Ballroom) - Rosanna Setu - Kick it up a notch! - : Our legs and feet provide strong foundations for our dance, but we can also use them to accentuate and enhance our performance with sassy kicks to fanciful footwork and more--Don't forget about those glorious gams and tootsies, they can do so much more than just walk across the stage! We often let our lower bodies fall to the wayside but they are the highlight in this workshop, where we'll be exploring some fun flourishment to add to your repertoire for fusion and cabaret styles alike. Get those leg warmers on and let's kick it up a notch!"

Sunday 11:00 am - 12:45 pm / Classroom A (Restaurant) - Drake von Trapp - Cave Goblin Fusion (Combos: stylization) - Known for his propensity for moving like a cave goblin who learned to belly dance, Drake teaches the fundamentals of his unique “cave goblin” grunge style of fusion. This class will explore counterintuitive movement pathways, creative floorwork, and body conditioning to unlock the goblin within. Knee pads optional.

Sunday 11:00 am - 12:45 pm / Classroom B (Boardroom) - Jamie Lynn - The 5 Part Routine: the mini version - Discover the unique style that is American Vintage- a wonderful eclectic mix of Turkish, Lebanese, Egyptian, Greek, and everything in between brought to this country in the 40's and with its heyday in the 60's and 70's. This workshop will introduce the concept of the Five Part Routine from American Vintage Cabaret style Bellydance. An almost lost art form, this routine starts with wrapped-veil zill entrance, slow veil, floor work or standing taxim, drum solo and kashlimar zill finale all in a mini format to fit most of today's 5-7 minute solo slots! Improvisation will be encouraged! No need to bring ALL the props with you (veil and zills), but do so if you have them!

Sunday 11:00 am - 12:45 pm / Classroom C (Ballroom) - Elizabeth Muise - Art of the Drum Solo : Improvising with a drummer (Co taught with drummer Shane Chikeles) ( Music and Dance / Fusion and Raqs Sharqi Workshop) - Learn the ins and out of how to improvise with a drummer. In this class you will learn basic rhythms and accents and practice embodying these musical embellishments in your dance. You will learn improvisational skills to deliver a dynamic and entertaining performance while connecting with the drummer and your audience. This class is suitable for all levels of dancers, from beginner to professional, with skills that can be applied for Raq Sharqi dancers and fusion dancers alike

Sunday 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm / Classroom A (Restaurant) - Zaira - Baladi for the Soul (Folkloric Egyptian) - Take a journey into the heart and soul for the Egyptian country women. Get ready to immerse yourself in this iconic Egyptian dance style. Zaira will take you on a journey exploring authentic Baladi music and technique, all while learning an earthy choreography that captures the essence of this dance. Whether you’re new to Baladi or looking to enhance your dance, this is an opportunity to learn some of the roots of belly dance

Sunday 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm / Classroom B (Boardroom) - Hannah and Rosanna Setu - Hands on Healing Workshop - Rosanna and Hannah will bring two massage tables to do energy balancing, reiki, and other techniques for every class participant. This class is a practicum – hands-on demonstration rather than lecture, that invites everyone to take turns on the table with the participants actually learning some of the techniques to use for themselves. We will do Reiki, Quantum Touch@, B.E.S.T, simple brief massage techniques plus breathwork and also some angelic energy techniques (invisible helpers) to clear and balance the aura and chakras. The goal is for everyone to leave feeling better than when they came in and empowered by experiencing stress relief with many various gentle but thorough (and fast) techniques. The whole group of participants will benefit and respond to each others’ table time. Whether you’re new to energy healing or already practicing, come receive the benefits of the Setus’ years of experience in energy medicine. There will be handouts.
