The focus of the Fourth of July in Douglas has always been on the children and the community coming together to celebrate. Competition including ballgames, and fire hose events between Juneau and Douglas have gone back through our history to the days the Treadwell Mine was in operation.

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Community Picnic 
Food and drinks will be provided.

6:00 PM - Watermelon Eating Contest (held at start of picnic)

5:00 – 5:30 PM - Soapbox Derby  Car Show and Trials
Come show off your hot ride and see your competition.
Location: Soapbox Challenge Site on St Ann's Ave

5:30 – 7:30 PM - Soapbox Challenge Heat - Trials - Registration
Divisions: Ages 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10 (registration is required)
