The focus of the Fourth of July in Douglas has always been on the children and the community coming together to celebrate. Competition including ballgames, and fire hose events between Juneau and Douglas have gone back through our history to the days the Treadwell Mine was in operation.

3:00 PM - Final Soapbox Challenge
Divisions: Ages 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10  (registration is required)

2pm - Douglas 4th of July Parade
Douglas Parade Grand Marshal - Juneau Disc Golf Club Most Original -  Best Marching Band/Musical Group -  Most Patriotic
Best Commercial -  Most Beautiful -  Best Cultural -  Judges’ Choice Prizes are $100.
