Bucket Brigade Interpretive Beach Tours

Join the Bucket Brigade for a hands-on beach tour that dives into what makes Galveston's shoreline so unique—from curious creatures in the Sargassum to the story behind our turbid water. Tours are fun, interactive, and open to all ages.

Meet at Lifeguard Stand #1—just look for the bright orange shirt, buckets, and wagon!

FREE Sandcastle Building Lessons

Attention sandcastle builders! Galveston is hosting a free, family-friendly event to help beachgoers create spectacular sandcastles with guidance from a pro.

Visitors to East Beach can participate in "Sandcastle Days" to receive free sandcastle-building lessons from a professional sandcastle builder. The lessons will take place at 11AM, 1PM, and 3PM. Lessons are by the water's edge, straight down from the East Beach Pavilion. Registration is not required.

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: July Jams & Pickleball Slams at The San Luis Resort

We're serving up friendly matches, mimosas, music, snacks, and local vendors to keep the good vibes rolling all morning long. Whether you're here to ****, drink, or chill, this is your post-Fourth celebration done right. Grab your paddles and make some memories on the court!

Plus, enter our special raffle for a chance to win a round of simulated golf with a PGA instructor at Vista Golf and a $50 Relaxing Massage at Spa San Luis.

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: East End Lagoon Nature Outing

Join the Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council staff and volunteers for a guided nature walk through the East End Lagoon. Explore the beauty of the Preserve and discover the plants and animals that inhabit this unique ecosystem. Nature walks are free, but registration is required! Remember to bring bug spray, sunscreen, and closed-toe shoes.
