Northwoodstock Music Festival

Bent's Camp Resort
6882 Helen Creek Road

The first Northwoodstock kicked off in August of 2006 with a surprise appearance from Dewey Bunnell of America. The event quickly became a summertime staple for those on the Cisco Chain, and soon the town of Land O' Lakes. In recent years, bigger shows like BoDeans, Starship feat. Mickey Thomas, Mark Farner's American Band (Formerly Grand Funk Railroad) and Rusted Root have solidified Northwoodstock as one of the most unique and intimate music events in the state. This year, we're taking things to a new level with TWO big headliners!

Schedule of Events:

The Uprooted Band featuring Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root
Michael Glabicki, lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for Rusted Root fuses musical mastery and shamanic inspiration into his music and live performances. In his most prolific period to date Glabicki is focusing his energy on his new band, The UPROOTED Band, to carry on the legacy of Rusted Root's energetic music while recording new music for their debut album due out next Spring.

"Uprooted has masterfully expanded the landscape of the older Rusted Root songs and created a new intuitive and magnetic vision of the material" says Glabicki, "These inspired performances not only energize and expand the hearts of the crowds but also show us how to take the new music to the next level". Rusted Root, lead by Michael, built their career around dramatic performances; their polyrhythmic, multicultural rock-and-soul picked up fans like a junkyard magnet as they swept across the nation on tour. Glabicki continues to keep this tradition alive through his new project, The Uprooted Band.

Horseshoes and Hand Grenades
After ten years, five albums, innumerable sold out shows, and countless libations, Americana mavericks Horseshoes and Hand Grenades appropriately consider themselves a "family" on a wild, wonderful, and often whacky roller coaster. The bond between the quintet- Adam Greuel (guitar, vocals), David C. Lynch (harmonica, accordion, vocals), Collin Mettelka (fiddle, vocals), Russell Pedersen (banjo, vocals), and Samual Odin (bass, vocals)- fuels their creativity and chemistry on stage and in the studio.

"Sometimes, it feels like we're modern day cowboys on some kind of strange journey," Adam affirms with a laugh. "We're five friends who set out to do something we enjoy doing, meet interesting people, see old friends, and make some new buddies along the way. Because of that sense of friendship, everything seems to happen organically."

That's been the case since these five musicians first met in Stevens Point, WI at college, joined forces, and hit the road harder post-graduation in roughly 2013. They have ignited stages alongside everyone from Greensky Bluegrass, Yonder Mountain String Band, The Infamous Stringdusters, and Trampled By Turtles to Railroad Earth, Merle Haggard, and Marty Stuart in addition to appearances at festivals such as Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Delfest, High Sierra Music Festival, Blue Ox Music Festival, Northwest String Summit, John Hartford Memorial Festival, and many more. Their five albums-Another Round (2012), This Old Town (2013), Middle Western (2015), The Ode (2018), and Miles in Blue (2020) take the listener through a wide range of musical and emotional landscapes, something surely provoked by the five different members all sharing songwriting duties.

Their most recent album, "Miles in Blue" is an 18-track album that celebrates their 10 years together as a band. While the album certainly nods to their tried and true blend of "new-time old-time" music, it also explores new musical avenues as the band pushes themselves to discover what else "can be".

The Horseshoes and Hand Grenades family grows stronger by the day. "The best part of this has been building a community," Adam leaves off. "In this day and age, it's wise to look for things that bring people together rather than separate them. We're creating an extended family to get through these times together. That's the ‘Horseshoe Crew.' Everything happens because of that bond between the band and the folks there fueling the fire."

Old Pine Road Band
Much like the mythical Hodag, the Old Pine Road Band has emerged from the woods of northern Wisconsin to mystify, captivate and entertain its many fine inhabitants. for nearly a decade, David Walters and the Old Pine Road Boys have been combining a crowd-pleasing blend of soulful funk-grass with a taste of twang and jam-band experimentation that's sure to leave you entertained! The Old Pine Road Band's debut album "Laying Roots" is now available on all digital services like iTunes and Spotify.

Hip Pocket
Hip Pocket is a powerful band with striking lead and harmony vocals; a blazing four-piece horn section; and a rockin' rhythm section. Hip Pocket rocks your favorite top 40, RandB, Latin-infusion, jazz, pop, modern, and classic rock hits! Adding their own unique flavor to classic RandB and rock favorites, Hip Pocket's music stands out. You'll love listening to their fresh arrangements on great horn tunes from artists like Santana, Van Morrison, Chicago, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Tower of Power, and many more.

Howard 'Guitar' Luedtke and Blue Max
Say the name Howard "Guitar" Luedtke, and little more needs to be said. Howard is a staple in the Blues scene and with good reason. He has 50 plus years of playing guitar in both the Midwest and on the international stage.

In 1964, Howard got his first guitar, and today when he picks up his Les Paul, he will transport you into the world of the blues. He's incredibly talented and his passion and love for what he does shows.

Howard's guitar playing is hard, fast, and immaculate. He's truly one of those players who lives in harmony with his instrument. That connection only comes with experience and an undying need to share his sound.

Howard can be seen performing solo, as a duo with his wife "Magic Deb" Klossner on bass, or his three-piece rock blues band Blue Max, that includes "Wild Bill" Weiss on drums.
