Our 2025 festival, The Gilded Age, views the world of late-19th and early-20th century America through the career of Marcella Sembrich and the opulence of the era. Join us as we explore the diverse music that mirrored the culture of the time – in a series of concerts, lectures and films, concluding with an elegant vocal recital rich with gems from Sembrich’s operatic repertoire – all performed by today’s finest concert artists.

Spira Piano Quartet
Alfred Z. Solomon Masterwork Series
Delve into the intricate world of European chamber music with Spira, the capital region’s premier piano quartet! In this salon performance, the quartet will perform an exciting, wide-ranging program of rarely heard masterworks by Gabriel Faure, Gustav Mahler and Bohuslav Martin?, as well as an arrangement of an exquisite Mozart “Adagio” by Arvo Pärt.
Based in New York, the Spira piano quartet brings together musicians from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, The Albany Symphony and other regarded institutions. Comprised of Jamecyn Morey on violin, Brittany Zellman, viola, David Bebe, cello, and Chrysi Nanou, piano, the quartet balances programs of traditional repertoire from various periods with innovative newly commissioned works.
