The Annual Craftsmen’s Fair began in 1933 and runs for nine days each year, featuring the juried work of hundreds of members with sales booths, interactive demonstrations, and curated exhibitions attracting over 20,000 visitors annually. This video from 2021 captures the essence of the Fair, and provides a sense of the wide range of creative experiences you can expect to find each year.

Daily Demonstrations

Enjoy different demonstrations daily by Craft Guilds and Juried Members. Many of these demonstrations include the opportunity to try the technique yourself, so be sure to ask when you visit the tents. Our daily demonstrations are generously sponsored by Dorr Mill Store, NBT Bank and Baker Newman Noyes.

Rug Hooking with White Mountain Woolen Magic: Tent D

Guild members will not only demonstrate traditional rug hooking techniques, they will help you try your hand at it.

Paper Clay Sculpture with Carol Lake: Tent H

Carol will demonstrate various methods of making day animal sculptures with paper clay Paper day is a term used to describe the addition of cellulose (plant matter) to a clay body. The process dates bare to ancient Egypt and was popularized again in the 1980's. You can purchase her work in The Shop at the Fair.

Knitting and Crochet with The Elegant Ewe: Tent R

These ancient liber arts are easy to learn and can be enjoyed as a pleasant hobby or developed to a level of intricate mastery. Interact with the skilled knitting and crochet teachers and students of the Elegant Ewe yarn shop and give it a try you may get hooked!

Music at The Fair

The League is excited to offer live music every day of the 2025 Fair. These talented local musicians will be playing daily from 10am-4pm at the Art, Craft & Design tent, adjacent to the food vendor area.
